Kudos to our own Mark Jones, vice president of Intertech Commercial Flooring’s San Antonio operations, who has been elected to the board of directors of Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. South Texas Chapter.

Jones joins the 20-member board in January, which is charged with setting the organization’s strategic direction, overseeing the overall organization and ensuring business efficiency and mission alignment. The board comprises leaders from San Antonio-area general contractors, suppliers and support services.

Since joining Intertech in 1988, Jones has played a key role in the company’s growth from one office and 14 employees, to four locations and more than 150 employees today. As vice president of operations, his responsibilities encompass contractor relations, sales and internal operations in the San Antonio office. Before joining the San Antonio office in 2002, Jones was the special projects manager at the Austin office where he was responsible for change orders and billing adjustments on all major projects.

“I have had the opportunity to take an active role in many areas within ABC’s activities for many years,” said Jones. “It is a first-class organization doing some great work on behalf of companies like Intertech and many others in the San Antonio area. It is an honor to be elected to the board, and I look forward to helping lead the chapter in this role.”  ABC South Texas, founded in 1972, is one of 70 ABC chapters nationwide. The chapter provides advocacy, education, workforce development and business services to more than 200 construction and industry-related firms. In addition, it trains approximately 200 construction industry apprentices annually.

“We have always been a big proponent of giving back to the industry and the community, and encourage our employees to get actively involved in organizations that they feel make a difference. For Mark, one of those has been the ABC South Texas Chapter,” said Intertech President and CEO Bill Imhoff. “Mark will bring the same level of commitment and leadership to this role that he has to every project and every client relationship at Intertech. He is great asset to the ABC board.”
