A 22-week lead time threatened to derail flooring installation at Samsung's new Taylor manufacturing facility. Intertech's solution was delivered in eight weeks.
THE CHALLENGE
Samsung's advanced manufacturing facility in Taylor required electrostatic dissipative (ESD) raised access flooring with steel-topped panels and concrete cores across the first three floors of a seven-story building. The originally specified product had a 22-week lead time, a timeline that wouldn't work with the project schedule.
Facing a potential delay, the general contractor needed an alternative that could meet the original specifications without the wait.
OUR SOLUTION
Intertech is the exclusive Texas distributor for Global IFS raised access flooring, covering the territory from Waco to the Rio Grande Valley. We proposed Global IFS Teccrete raised access flooring, a product practically identical to the original spec in both appearance and performance, but available in eight weeks instead of 22. The specification was changed, and Intertech was hired to complete the job.
The Global IFS system delivered everything the project required: steel-topped panels with magna lock technology (allowing carpet, LVT, or wood flooring to magnetically attach), concrete cores for durability, and the critical ESD properties needed for Samsung's high-tech manufacturing environment. The system also accommodates laminate, vinyl, and architectural panel finishes, giving the design team full flexibility.
THE RESULTS
Over 12–15 months, Intertech installed 530,000 square feet of raised access flooring across the facility's first three floors, plus all electrical, fire, and storage rooms on the four upper floors. The project achieved Substantial Completion for all Phase 1 areas (Café, Auditorium/Fitness, and Workplace) on November 7, 2025.
By leveraging our distributor relationship and deep product knowledge, we turned a potential schedule disaster into a straightforward path to completion, delivering the exact performance Samsung needed, when they needed it.
WHAT'S NEXT
Phase 1 is complete, but Intertech's work at Samsung continues. We have five additional contracts in progress covering rubber flooring, vinyl, carpet, and LVT installations throughout the facility.
