When this floor needed to be rebuilt, the client did not ask for a new one. He asked for the same one, rebuilt exactly. Three times.
THE CHALLENGE
This custom parquet had already proven itself once. Then two separate water issues meant it needed to be rebuilt, twice. Because Intertech had designed and hand milled the original floor, an off-the-shelf replacement was never on the table. The client wanted his exact floor back, the same pattern, the same curved borders, the same custom color. Reproducing hand-built parquet down to every cut and the blended stain is where most installers would be starting from scratch and still fall short.
OUR SOLUTION
Because Intertech built the original floor, we kept detailed records of every cut and measurement, so each rebuild matches the last precisely. We purchased and milled the white oak in house, cut tongue and groove on all four sides of each parquet block, and hand-formed the curved "racetrack" border by slicing 3-inch wood into 3/16-inch strips, then bowing, gluing, and shaping them to the floor. The design layers white oak in several cuts and directions with black walnut accents, colored in a custom blend of seven stains and sealed with a premium Swedish finish.
THE RESULT
Intertech has designed, milled, and installed this floor three times, each one an exact match to the original. That is the kind of work that turns a client into a repeat client, and earns a standing invitation to stay for a glass of whiskey.
