John Paul Stevens High School in San Antonio brought a fresh approach to educational design with its innovative "mall concept" layout. Intertech delivered flooring solutions across this 398,000-square-foot facility, the largest community structure in the developing neighborhood.
DESCRIPTION
This facility was designed to minimize its impact on the site and surrounding neighborhood, reflecting sensitivity to both environmental and economic concerns. The school's layout follows an innovative "mall concept" with Fine Arts and Athletics serving as the two anchor departments.
The Commons, functioning as the building's "food court," sits near the center of the facility with classroom clusters positioned between the Commons and the anchor departments. Intertech installed flooring throughout the school using products from Lees, Armstrong, Roppe, Ardex and Parabond to support this forward-thinking educational environment.
