As a commercial flooring company, Intertech Flooring is known for changing commercial spaces with award-winning flooring expertise, so when we recently had an opportunity to not only help change a space but also change a life, we couldn’t resist.

Unlike our typical projects, this one was a residential remodel; the end user, not our typical commercial project, but a single mom and her young, active family. When our interior design colleagues at nousDECOR and Dwell with Dignity approached our Dallas/Fort Worth team with the idea of helping convert this house into warm and welcoming home, we jumped at the chance!

Dwell with Dignity is a nonprofit group of interior designers and volunteers dedicated to creating soothing, inspiring homes for families struggling with homelessness and poverty. It provides and installs home interiors for families including items such as furnishings and art, bedding and kitchen supplies, and food in the pantry. Its mission is to help families escape poverty and homelessness through design, one household at a time

The goal of this project was to create a fresh start in a three-bedroom house for a family of five. “We were delighted to be able to partner with other contractors, designers, and suppliers to make this home a reality,” said Anne Galmor, LEED-AP, Product Consultant in Intertech’s DFW office. “It was great to hear how excited the family was about their transformed home.”

Adds DFW Office Vice President Scott Richter, “We were honored to be able to help out by providing carpeting. It is such a great feeling knowing that we were part of not only changing this space into something comfortable, inviting and livable – but that we were really part of changing the lives of this young family.”
